Press Pause, Pay Attention, Shift and Prevail

Doesn’t it have a nice ring to it?! It is my honor to share my passion through love of movement in various forms. As a teacher, choreographer, and dancer for the past 15 years, it has been my privilege to empower others to realize their true potential by pushing past their limits.

Receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Science and Education and licensed in Dance Education, my training has taken me all over the world. From performing in New York City with The Vissi Dance Theatre to Morrison Dance in Cleveland, Ohio to Collective Motion and Sonar dance in Maine. In addition, I had the honor to perform on an international level at the Yitzhak International Arts Gathering in Israel which allowed me to both share my craft as well as experience diverse practices by fellow performers from across the globe.

My love of movement has propelled me from doing to teaching, producing, and creating. Acting as Assistant Dance Director at the St. Joseph’s Arts School in New York, I lead the health and education department. Furthermore, directing the New England Dance Project in Maine allowed me to work with over 1,000 artists and led to my creation of the dance and yoga initiative for youth and students at Falmouth High School in Maine. Upon my return to my hometown in Ohio, I wanted to give back to a community that has, over many years, given me so much. I created a performance art company called The Birds that Walk at Night.

There was a shift in my love of movement as yoga became more at the forefront of my own personal healing. I knew through teaching, I could impact the larger community as a whole. I earned my first 200-hr RYT through Yoga Alliance at Yoga Bliss in Ohio. As my practice grew, so did my teaching. I started working at Yoga Bliss and with local high schools after-school programs. I have grown and expanded my practice through instruction at yoga studios offering different techniques and styles in their own right and I have found my most recent home at YogaSquared in Akron, Ohio. I recently embarked on a month long intensive teacher training in Thailand to receive my 500-hr RYT with the Anna Sugarman School of Yoga. I also have become a Reiki Master and currently working with Shine Akron.

As the ancient Zen Proverb says “move and the way will open.”
